When Boston Singer / Songwriter Mike Verge was sitting in Fenway Park watching the Red Sox fight their way to the playoffs and 2007 World Series championship, he was energized by the contagious fervor that pulsated all around him.
As the action swirled and the crowd roared, Verge conceptualized a song for the old town team – “Let’s Go, Red Sox.”
“I wanted to capture the essence of the game with everyone signing along,” said Verge. He connected – with a big hit.
Verge’s anthem caught the attention of Fox TV. The network ran an exclusive feature and played the song during their broadcast of the 2007 World Series as Boston won for the second time in four seasons.
The song has a line-drive melody that explodes with an infectious chorus that has everyone in the ball park singing, “Lets Go, Red Sox.”
On Opening Day, April 8th, Mike performed the new favorite theme outside the ballpark for the Fox 25 news crew and fans as they sang back up for him.
